Our idea is to leave the accommodations before dawn to be in the places when the light arrives. I’m afraid Snaefellsnes may be the biggest beating in that regard, especially getting there and back… but I think it might be worth it, right? And to the east, I don’t know if we can get to Höfn, we still settle for Jökulsárlón, which is not little. Anyway, it is missing less … what do you win !!!! Thanks again, a hug!
If the route is ok. You will have limitations but you can do it. A tip with Snaefellsnes. That day, go out earlier, drive even if it is still a bit at night (Icelandic roads are very quiet) and so you are already dawning there. It’s a couple of hours, little more.
And nothing happens for not reaching Hofn. I think going south to Jokulsarlon will be fine enough.
Nothing, I just wanted to tell you that everything turned out great, that it has been an INCREDIBLE trip. We have returned totally dazzled, with the certainty that we have to return. There are not enough words to describe this country. We only had some bad luck in the sense that there was a strong windstorm and they closed the entire south-southeast (first from Vík, where we spent the night that day and the next day from Hvolsvöllur). We had to turn around from Vík so we were left without seeing the whole part of Jökulsárlón, Fjallsárlón, Svartifoss, Svínafellsjökull, Kirkjubaejarklaustur… but hey, more excuse to return !! At least we got to see Sólheimajökull, which impressed us a lot, And on top of that we had the HUGE LUCK to see the Northern Lights !!! And above in a magical setting, at the foot of Kirkjufell !! What an experience, what a feeling … absolutely BESTIAL. The creeps just to remember it.
Anyway, thank you very much for your help and your instructions; This INCREDIBLE trip has been like this in part thanks to you.
Thank you very much for leaving your feedback after returning from your trip to Iceland. The storms happen more than it seems (it happened to me in the north). Of course, I tell you that you have a super reason to return. That area is probably the most incredible in the country. But of course, you wear the Northern Lights. It would be abusing !!! hehehe
You really don’t know what excites me to know, that even with a grain of sand, I have been part of your journey. I hope to continue doing it on more occasions.
